Our Programs
As we bring together people from our community and region, BCA works to create and develop opportunities for learning, practicing and sharing of the arts for our citizens.
Our program is threefold:
Learning
The BCA offers ways to acquire new skills in the arts and other creative endeavours. We offer more than 30 programs each year to children, youths and adults in our community. Our classes range from puppet making to acrylic painting and everything in between. If you are interested in signing up, or want to see what we are currently offering, be sure to click “Classes” on the main menu.
Practicing
In addition to our regular classes, we provide studio time for community members who want to continue to practice what they have learned in our classes. A $5/day drop-in fee is charged and any equipment can be used if the appropriate pre-requisite classes have been taken to learn safe and proper use. Consumable supplies like clay are available to purchase and fees are charged for kiln firing. New users are supervised by a volunteer monitor and those with experience work independently.
Sharing
We are always looking for opportunities to showcase local artists. Hiring local artists to teach our classes is very important to us – it is a way we can promote and celebrate homegrown talent. We also highlight local talent in our gift shop, and in our fundraising events.
